Metlab Cork — head office and laboratory
Where Metlab started in 1982, and still the centre of gravity: laboratory testing, NDT field teams and the certification body, all working out of Airways Technology Park on the Kinsale Road.
The Cork laboratory anchors the south of the country: concrete cubes and cores from Munster’s construction sites, weld coupons from fabricators, PE fusion joints from water schemes, and the examination records behind welder certification. Field crews mobilise daily across Cork city and county, Kerry, Limerick and the wider Munster region — with the pharmaceutical and energy corridor from Ringaskiddy to Little Island a short drive away.
Cork is also home to Metlab’s certification function — the INAB-accredited ISO/IEC 17024 body that qualifies welders and plastics welders — and the head-office quality team that keeps all three accreditation scopes audited and current.
